I began midwifery training in 2012. After qualifying, I ran my own NHS clinic that saw me care for hundreds of women throughout the various stages of their pregnancy. I also worked as a social midwife supporting vulnerable women and their families.

Unfortunately, the clinic was shut down at the beginning of 2018 to cut costs. Although this was a frustrating situation, I was determined to find another way of doing even more for the women and families that I had been caring for.

I decided to complete a full-time MBA at Cranfield University, which turned out to be a life-changing and transformational experience. It gave me the courage to combine my years of midwifery experience and new business skills to create a supportive and accessible network for parents-to-be, and that’s how The Parent Education Company was born.

After seeing first-hand the challenges that soon-to-be parents face at the start of their journey, I wanted to develop an improved antenatal education that catered for all aspects of pregnancy, birth, and beyond, delivered in a way that suits a range of learning styles. This included addressing topics that are often excluded, like relationships between partners, emotional support for everyone involved, and the pressures around subjects like breastfeeding.
