Development of Baby

Your baby’s reflexes are continuing to develop, and they will now be able to suck. If you have a scan later in your pregnancy you may be able to see them sucking their thumb, fingers, or hand. If you are having a baby boy, it is between weeks 28 and 32 that their testes will descend into their scrotum.

Maternal Symptoms

As your baby and bump continue to grow you may find that your body starts to ache more, particularly your back and pelvis. Gentle exercise such as pregnancy yoga, can help to relieve this, as well as getting up and moving around regularly. These are also techniques you can use in labour too if you wish, so getting practice in during pregnancy can be really useful.

Things to Consider

If your job requires you to sit for long periods of time, consider how this can be reasonably adjusted to support you moving around regularly. Could you take a meeting on your phone rather than on your computer and walk around whilst listening for example? Or can you go for a gentle walk on your lunch break?
