Development of Baby

Baby is now fully developed and ready to be born.

Maternal Symptoms

As at around 40 weeks you may be experiencing some early labour symptoms, or no symptoms at all. As your due date is an approximate guess, your baby may only be ready to be born around this time.

Things to Consider

At your appointment this week, your Midwife will offer to book your date of induction. They will also offer you a membrane sweep, offer to book in further membrane sweeps over the upcoming week, and carry out the usual checks. If you decide not to have an induction you will be transferred to consultant led care and be booked in for regular scans.
